About Sunwheel Energy Partners

Sunwheel Energy Partners is a renewable energy development company focused on bringing sustainable energy solutions to urban communities across the nation. Sunwheel provides turnkey solar photovoltaic (PV) systems that offer clean, sustainable power and lower energy costs to commercial, governmental, affordable housing, and civic organizations nationwide.

Sunwheel is an experienced turnkey solar provider. We will assess your solar potential, design the project, install the solar power system, and manage its operation. Sunwheel’s team has experience in large-scale community financing, tax credit financing, and public/private partnerships, and we have worked with municipalities, civic institutions, foundations, and owners to successfully realize large-scale and challenging projects.

Roots

Sunwheel was founded by the urban revitalization firm McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS) to focus on energy sustainability in urban communities across the nation. MBS, based in St. Louis, has been building and managing transformational housing for 35 years, with over $2 billion in investments and 16,000 units of mixed income/affordable housing developed nationwide. Like MBS, the mission and passion for revitalizing disinvested neighborhoods is in Sunwheel’s DNA. In all its projects, Sunwheel looks for ways to not only bring clean, renewable energy sources to the community, but to bring new jobs and encourage economic growth. For example, Sunwheel’s first affordable housing solar projects in California impacted 1,500 working families living in these communities, bringing renewable energy and lower cost of electricity for years. These solar energy systems generate over 2.3 million kWhs of clean, renewable electricity annually, saving approximately two million pounds of CO2 emissions each year. These installations also brought dozens of jobs to these economically underserved communities, as we work with integrators who participate in local jobs programs and hire from the communities.
